Daniel matriculated from Elkanah House High School where he achieved the top Science student award and took Dramatic arts, music and played tennis. He received distinctions in Mathematics and Science. He completed his undergraduate degree at Stellenbosch University in molecular biology, followed by a cum laude MSc and recently finished his PhD in Wine Biotechnology.
